The Northern Ireland Health Minister has launched an initiative to tackle the very serious and increasing problem of violence in the NHS workplace.
This follows a report by the BMA, published in November 2006, which showed that violence was continuing and on the increase, with almost half of the 1,000 doctors who responded to the survey saying that violence was a problem and more than one-quarter saying that it had increased in the past year.
