NHS students in Bradford, UK, will be learning how to improve their communication skills with patients, with a little help from a group of actors.
Around 50 students on the physiotherapy degree at the University of Bradford will be taking part in simulated patient exercises with a training group of actors. Students will take part in two two-hour sessions involving short semi-improvised performances from the actors, who will play out typical scenes between NHS staff, patients and parents that might take place in a practice setting. The students will then split into break out groups where they will analyse the communication between the actors.
