The Welch Allyn Connex® Spot Monitor hits the spot

1 October, 2015

With a continuing focus on paper-light routine observations and EWS (early warning scores) in health systems round the world, the latest Welch Allyn Connex® Spot Monitor (CSM) provides comprehensive and accurate patient documentation in a single device.

Developed with substantial input from clinicians, the Connex® Spot Monitor combines cutting edge technology with flexibility and customization and represents a major advance in enhancing patient safety through technology, harnessing the expertise of a range of leading names in vital signs measurement, including SureBP®, Nonin, Masimo®, Covidien®, Braun Thermoscan Ear and SureTemp® Plus.

In addition to automated measurements, up to 20 additional non-automated parameters such as levels of consciousness and pain can be entered manually, creating a central point of data entry for all patient observations. This data can be easily transmitted wirelessly to an electronic medical record system (EMR) if desired.

It all adds up to the Connex® Spot Monitor

With documentation error rates using paper-based observations as high as 54 per cent [1], Jan McMeekin, Regional Sales Director at Welch Allyn UK Ltd confirms an enthusiastic response from customers, demonstrating the need for the new Connex® Spot Monitor.

Our aim with the CSM was simple – to create a device which helps to makes our customers’ lives easier, provides unrivalled flexibility and helps enhance patient safety.’

We’re delighted to have secured large-scale orders for our Connex products. We strive to give hospitals precisely what they need – trusted, proven technology in a user-friendly format that can be easily adapted to work with any hospital’s workflow.
