A UK-based patient terminal manufacturer has signed an agreement with a German hospital IT firm to offer integrated hospital entertainment, communication and information services on a single infrastructure.
Germany-based mgate has successfully completed installations at six German hospitals, and will now be able to offer JAOtech’s UL60601 approved bedside terminals.
Commenting on the agreement, Christoph Koch, Technical Director of mgate said: “We are seeing high demand from European hospitals for IT solutions that simultaneously enhance the patient experience and deliver operational efficiencies.
“We are impressed by the quality and range of their products and the well-thought out design, as well as by JAOtech’s road map for evolving their solution to meet the continually changing needs of hospital staff and patients.”
Graham Grover, Director of JAOtech said: “mgate is a recognised leader in the delivery of IP based entertainment, communication and information solutions to bedsides to leading European hospitals and clinics.
“Together, we are able to provide the patients with bedside entertainment and communication facilities, and give medical staff instant access to information at the bedside where they need it the most.”
Using mgate’s software, patients can make telephone calls, watch TV, use the internet, play games, chat and see information about the hospital and their treatment via the JAOtech terminal.
