A UK-based manufacturer of advanced wound care products has announced the expansion of its European portfolio with the opening of a new company in the Netherlands.
Advancis Medical, which already has operations in the UK, France, Germany and the US, has now opened a company in Kampen – Advancis Medical Nederland.
The wound care market in the Netherlands is currently worth about €100 million, but like most healthcare systems across the globe, the Dutch healthcare sector is seeing significant changes driven by a need to reduce costs whilst maintaining quality.
The new Dutch division of the Advancis Medical will be run by experienced healthcare executive, Ron Sellies.
Advancis Medical, which has its headquarters in Nottingham, UK, has built an international reputation for developing, manufacturing and marketing a range of advanced wound care products which use innovative materials to reduce healing times, maximise patient comfort and provide cost effective solutions to wound care.
Advancis was the first to introduce medical grade Manuka honey as a medical device into the UK. The company’s expanding product range now includes soft silicone atraumatic dressings, super absorbent dressings designed to handle high levels of exudate and fluid and a hydrophilic foam dressing range.
Mr Sellies said: “The Advancis range of products presents an extremely attractive wound care proposition to healthcare practitioners in the Netherlands, as they successfully combine superior patient outcomes with high levels of time and cost saving efficiency.
“The Dutch market will be very receptive to our range of products and we are looking forward to meeting healthcare professionals across the country to talk to them about Advancis.”
