Indian health care provider Apollo Group is reported to be in talks with several hospitals in the UK to buy a 250 to 300 bed unit.
“We are in talks and an acquisition of a hospital with a bed capacity of 250-300 beds should happen in the next six months,” group finance director Suneeta Reddy told The Economic Times
Private equity firm Apax Partners, which recently invested US$104m in Apollo Group, is advising the company on the deal, the report said.
It said this would be Apollo’s second attempt to acquire a hospital in the UK. The group was recently in the race to buy a hospital chain which was eventually bought by Apax Partners.
