Firm gains grant for computer-aided scans

Imaging specialist Morits has received a grant from the German Ministry of Economy and Technology to develop a new computer-aided detection (CAD) tool for CT and MRI.

Development of the tool, Structured CAD, is to take place over the next two years. The goal is to construct a module with a self-learning capability that makes it possible to segment and classify anatomical structures in 3D CT and MRI volumetric datasets.

The firm also hopes to offer radiologists the ability to generate structured multimedia reports automatically.

Morits, based in Rostock, Germany, is part of UK-based telemedicine and teleradiology developer Image Information Systems.
